31st Oct – 2nd Nov 2025 Chamonix Photo Festival

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to exhibit my work at Chamonix Photo Festival, and share my “Songs of Gobi” series with visitors over three days.

I know less than a handful of French words, but local people made the effort to use English to say how they felt/saw the 12 prints I presented. It also was a great joy to see young children spend time looking at my work, and how some even found a particular one connected to them, judging by their facial gestures and communications with the adults. Often I’d find myself fully engaged with one individual or small group in conversation about the sense of femininity in my work.

Over many visits, I’ve become deeply attached and moved by a remote part of the Gobi Desert, its ever changing forms offers something beyond what the eyes see, beyond what we can merely know, and I am excited to present this unique place. The transience within the Gobi fascinates me, its fine, loose sand effortlessly moved by wind, its ever-changing light making dunes morph into new lines, patterns and shapes. Contrasting qualities emerge: warm and cool, sharp and soft, closeness and distance, creating momental yet eternal abstract compositions. The interplay of varying light and landscape reflects movement and touch between bodies, and I see my femininity and sensuality within it, the challenging experiences that led me to seek softness, sensitivity and grace.
