Podcast 2 – David Clapp

For our second episode I decided to get some insights into the day to day work of a professional photographer, and at the same time gain a perspective from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. I chose a British Photographer with a great reputation for superb images of many diverse subjects from Architecture, Travel & Culture, and of course, contemporary Landscapes – DAVID CLAPP.

David lives in the SW of England and runs a successful business based around writing numerous articles for the Photographic Publications, Stock and Tours, Workshops and Talks.

From David’s Bio -

  1. What has been your favourite photograph you have created and why?

I will always be very proud of my huge wave explosions from the Cornish cliffs. It was an unbelievable ten minutes of intensity accompanied by lots of air punching and expletives. I got myself in the right place at the right time by acting instinctively which made me very proud of myself. The elation from that day will stay with me forever.

  • Very interesting listening, and thanks to the both off you for taking the time to doing this.

One thing that David spoke about was what I would call the Amateur photographer, the one that works and has a family, and limited time left for there chosen hobby. Which I feel I full under. I thought it was very refreshing listening to views on this. Also do like the saying about the ownership of the picture being handed over to the computer. As we all know processing is an important part in digital photography, and there are so many pictures out there with over use of processing.

    Cheers Frank
